After a long break...

So things are finally starting to calm down, slightly...Lot's of family issues happened towards the end of last year but things started to get back on track. I had a little time to do some crafting, but not a whole lot.

Then came the middle of May...I got promoted, transferred to a new store, lost two employees within my first two weeks >.<

Here are a few pictures of the things I've had time to make.

This is one of three flora headbands that I've made, my favorite due to the dark red and black fabrics :)

A cute little zippered wristlet, which has a little bit of batting in it for structure and to protect any contents.

And last but not least, a new wallet that I made. It has a full sized pocket for bills, four credit card slots and a bonus zippered pocket on the outside for coins!

*faceplant*

Just when I get back into the swing of crafting my life turns upside down. I get over the flu only to find out, about an hour ago, that my elderly grandmother has fallen and broken her hip...sigh.

But, in spite of all the icky things going on, I have had time to get some new projects done! My sewing skills are getting a little better too :) Here are a few long wallets that I have put together.

Another hobby to add to my list...

So I'm getting a lot of use out of the sewing machine I got for my birthday...and so now sewing has become another hobby to add to my list of hobbies. Just what I need, right? Oh well, it's not a bad thing that I have so many hobbies, unless you're my pocket book :P I decided that I wasn't feeling up to going to the firefighters meeting tonight cause my stomach couldn't decide if it wanted to rid itself of the few contents it had, so I sat at my machine and knocked out a few new purses :)

Home stretch

So lately I haven't had much time for myself due to the boyfriend and me moving but we are so close to being done. All we really have left to move is some items from the garage and that's it. Now comes the fun part of finding out where everything is going to go. I spent most of yesterday organizing the kitchen and I'm still not finished. It will probably take us several weeks to get things organized, I'm hoping it doesn't get dragged out for months.

Today we got up and attempted to do some turkey hunting. The only thing we were missing...turkeys. We set out before sunrise, got the decoy's set in place and found our spots to sit and wait. Once the sun just barely started to rise he started in with the calls and then we waited. Nothing...not one sound from a turkey. We heard all sorts of birds, saw a raccoon, and even had a doe deer come withing 30 feet of us, but we didn't see one turkey. At least it's opening day so we have a few more days left to try and get our Thanksgiving Day turkey. After last years, I really don't want to have to buy one, wild turkeys are so much tastier!!

Busy...

Okay so life has gotten a little on the busy side lately. I haven't had a lot of time to work on my art, which makes me a little sad, but there is a good reason. Friday, March 6th, my boyfriend signed and closed on a house! Ever since we have been working on cleaning, boy was it a mess, and figuring out what needs to be fixed first. Tonight we took down a very small wall in the laundry room that way we could get the appliances out and clean behind them. Once they were out we decided that the floor needs a little TLC so out came our project book.

The one thing that I have been able to do for myself when I'm not cleaning is use the birthday present my parents got me, a new sewing machine. I've always wanted one but I never knew what kind to buy or the money to buy a really nice one. The past few nights have been spent surfing the net for easy and simple projects and I have found too many to count! I did get my first project done and once I get a chance I will take a picture and post it. For now, it's off to bed, before I head back to the sewing machine and start another project :D

Loving pencil work

I'm still on my kick of working with pencil, keeping my ATC's black and white. The last face I did turned out really well, at least I think so. I've never been confident in drawing life like pictures but I'm not doing to bad. Here's the newest edition to my life like drawings.

Just a face

Okay so I decided that just one pencil ATC wasn't enough so I had to do another one. This one is a little more simple, just a face but very little detail, just enough to know what it is. Sorry for the black specs on the pic, it seems that there are a few scratches on the glass of my scanner :(
